PawCheck is operated by VOLTAIXGROUP LLC, a Florida limited liability company (also called Voltaix Group on this site; "we", "us"). By downloading or using PawCheck you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. The app is also licensed to you under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Standard EULA"); these terms add to it.

1. What PawCheck is and isn't

PawCheck gives general product information about pet food, treats and chews. A PawCheck score is our assessment of how a product fits the profile you entered for your pet, worked out by fixed rules from the product's ingredients and label details, published ingredient knowledge and the recall notices in our database. It is an opinion for your pet, not a statement of fact about a brand or manufacturer, and not a safety certification.

PawCheck is not veterinary advice, and no score, recommendation or article in the app is a substitute for consultation with a licensed veterinarian. Final feeding and care decisions rest with you and your vet.

2. How scans work, and accuracy

When you photograph the front of a pack, AI identifies the product, and its ingredients come from our product catalogue or an online look-up, or are read from a photo of the ingredient panel. You can also scan a barcode. Any of these steps can be wrong: a product can be misidentified, a label can be misread, online information can be incomplete or out of date, and formulations change.

Recall checks compare products with the US FDA and CPSC recall notices in our database, which doesn't include every recall and can be out of date. We don't promise to notify you of recalls; any recall notification the app sends is provided as is and may be late, incomplete or not sent at all. Always check the physical label before feeding, especially for allergies, and check the official FDA or CPSC notice if you're concerned about a recall.

3. Subscriptions and free trials

PawCheck requires a subscription. Plans are weekly, monthly or yearly; the price, billing period and any free trial are shown in the app, in your local currency, before you buy.

The points below apply to subscriptions bought in the App Store. Subscriptions bought on the web follow section 3A.

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm the purchase, or, if you start a free trial, when the trial ends.
• Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends.
• Manage or cancel in iOS Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the current period, and you keep access until then. If you cancel during a free trial at least 24 hours before it ends, you won't be charged.
• Free trials may be offered on yearly and monthly plans to eligible new subscribers; weekly plans have no trial. Free trials are available once per Apple ID, and Apple decides eligibility. Trial lengths can differ between offers: for example, a creator code can unlock a longer trial than the standard one. If you buy a subscription during a free trial, any unused part of the trial is forfeited.
• Fair use. A subscription includes unlimited label scans for your own personal use, subject to fair use. Some features, such as alternatives, recall checks and reports, have daily limits, and we may limit automated, abusive or unusually heavy use to protect the service.
• Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies, at reportaproblem.apple.com. We can't issue refunds for App Store purchases.
• Deleting your PawCheck account, or the app, does not cancel your subscription. Cancel it in iOS Settings as above.

3A. Subscriptions bought on the web (United States)

In the United States, the PawCheck app may offer signed-in customers the option to subscribe on the web instead of through the App Store. The same PawCheck PRO subscription is then sold by VOLTAIXGROUP LLC through a secure checkout page run for us by RevenueCat, with payments processed by Stripe. We don’t see or store your full card number.

• Price, period and trial. The web plan is billed yearly. The price, any tax and any free trial are shown on the checkout page before you pay. A free trial on the web (7 days) is offered once per customer, to customers who haven’t subscribed to PawCheck before.
• Automatic renewal. Your web subscription renews every year at the price shown at checkout, until you cancel. The payment method you gave at checkout is charged at the start of each yearly period. If you started with a free trial, it becomes a paid subscription when the trial ends, and the first charge is made then, unless you cancel before the trial ends.
• Reminders and price changes. We email you a reminder before each yearly renewal. If the price of your plan changes, we email you before the new price applies, and you can cancel before it does.
• Cancel online, any time. Use the “Manage subscription” link in any email about your subscription, go to Settings › Manage subscription in the app, or follow the steps at pawcheck.co/manage. You can also email team@pawcheck.co; cancellations by email are processed the same day. Cancelling stops future charges, and you keep PRO until the end of the period you’ve paid for. Cancel during a free trial, before it ends, and you won’t be charged.
• Refunds. Web payments are refunded by us, not by Apple or Google. Email team@pawcheck.co about any web charge. We review every request and refund where the law requires it.
• Your account. A web subscription belongs to the PawCheck account you were signed in to when you subscribed. Sign in with that account on any device to use it. “Restore” in the app finds App Store purchases only.
• Deleting the app or your PawCheck account does not cancel a web subscription. Cancel it as above.

4. Your account

You must be at least 13 years old to use PawCheck. If you are under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, you may use PawCheck only with the permission and involvement of a parent or guardian who agrees to these terms for you.

You're responsible for activity on your account. You can delete it at any time in the app under Pets › ⚙︎ Settings › Data & Privacy › Delete account.

5. Your content, and the shared product catalogue

You keep ownership of the photos you take and the information you enter. You grant us the limited right to process them to provide the app (for example, sending a label photo to our AI provider to read it).

Product information from your scans (such as a product's brand, name, recipe or variant, category, ingredients and other label details read from your photos, its barcode, your confirmation that a barcode matches a product, and "Not right?" reports) may be added to PawCheck's shared product catalogue and used to identify products and to show product details to other users. For that product information, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual and irrevocable licence to use, copy, store, adapt, combine and display it, and to let other PawCheck users see it, as part of operating and improving PawCheck. We don't add your photos themselves, your name or your email address to the catalogue. The Privacy Policy explains what we keep about you and how to ask for it to be removed.

6. Acceptable use

Don't attempt to reverse engineer the service, abuse the scanning service, submit false reports or deliberately wrong product information, or use the app's output to defame product manufacturers. Scores are our assessments for the pet profile you entered, not objective claims about a company or its products; presenting them as statements of fact about a brand is on you, not us.

7. Brand owners and corrections

If you make or sell a product and think a score, a product reading or a recall notice shown in PawCheck is wrong, email team@pawcheck.co with "Brand correction" in the subject. Tell us which product it is and what you believe is wrong, with any evidence (for example, the current ingredient list or the official recall notice). We'll review it and correct anything we find to be wrong.

8. Liability

The service is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, VOLTAIXGROUP LLC is not liable for damages arising from reliance on scores or guidance in the app. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be waived.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.

10. Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be reflected here with a new date. Continued use after changes means acceptance.
